It was our absolute pleasure to host the Bird and Drone Strike Workshop 2018 last week in Bristol.

We quickly (like, at warp speed) organised this workshop to fill the gap left after the UK Bird Strike Committee Meeting was unfortunately cancelled.

The workshop was well attended, with:

  • 38 participants
  • 12 airports
  • 2 airlines
  • 5 consulting firms

The first day was all about bird strikes and wildlife management. On the second day, the topic was drones and the safety (and security) threats they pose to aviation.

With the uncharacteristic, but very welcome, good weather we even got outside to play with our newest full 3D bird radar, Max®, as well his little drone detecting sister, ELVIRA®.

And as if that wasn't enough, we enjoyed a lovely dinner and tour at the Bristol Aviation Museum.
